Great Customer Service: Justin’s
If you know me personally then you know that Justin’s is pretty much my favorite place on Lark Street to eat and drink. Every trip is impressive but this weekend’s was just above and beyond. Yesterday Josh and I were both up early (like, before noon) and decided to grab brunch and a cocktail across the street. The patio called to us, as usual. We’d spaced on the whole Father’s Day thing and despite a crush of brunch patrons the service was spectacular, if fragmented. At any given time we had two members of the wait staff attending to us. The hostess who seated us took our drink orders (one Bloody, one Bellini) and made the honest mistake of entering in Josh’s Bellini as a, “Bellintini,” (sp?) a juicy, Prosecco-topped martini. When drinks were delivered and the error was identified, not only did our server immediately fix the mistake but he kindly told us to enjoy the Bellintini on the house. It was delicious, as was the replacement Bellini that arrived moments later. We sipped our assortment of drinks, smoked cigarettes and lazily scanned the menu, eventually settling on splitting the Crispy Fried Catfish Sandwich. As if on cue, the lovely and talented manager, Ryan, came over to say hi and ask how we were doing. We chatted for a moment and he took care of our food order. After what felt like five minutes out came two beautiful plates, each with its own half catfish sandwich (slathered with their avocado wasabi tartar sauce) alongside a generous mound of french fries, coleslaw and pickles. We. were. in. heaven. If you’ve had the catfish sandwich you know that it’s pretty enormous; certainly too much for me to eat in one sitting so this was the perfect solution. Now, I’m not sure if a plate-splitting fee was overlooked or intentionally omitted but it was absent from our bill, which came to a less-than-whopping $33.95.
